Something Old, Something New

Happy New Year to you all and I hope you had a marvellous Christmas...

I've had my first few days of sewing since before Christmas and it felt good to get back behind the machine. Kick starting your creativity is never easy after a break, there's always that doubt in your mind and nervousness at whether you've left it too long, but with a request for two dresses from a chum in Italy I had the incentive to get going.

That's not to say I don't love what I'm doing but there's always that terrifying moment when your facing that 'white piece of paper' or a 'blank canvas' with not a clue what to create.

At the end of last year I decided to explore other ideas and designs. Skirts was one area I had wanted to revisit for a while now. If you know me and know my work you'll know I'm a big fan of collage. And what is more natural for me to do than to incorporate this love into my sewing.

My skirt designs have moved away slightly from my applique beginnings and have headed in the same direction as my dress designs.  Less structured and more adventurous.....which I love, and who wouldn't.

So here we are...the new designs now available to purchase from my bigcartel shop.
