Playing the blues

On their way to Texas these gorgeous designs were a while in the planning.  It was great to find a couple of exciting prints on t.shirts in something other than black. Purchased on-line it was a first for me and I was very pleased with what arrived in the post all the way from the UK.

In fact it was quite nerve wracking cutting into these brilliant designs. Using t.shirts rather than rolls of fabric to create I have just one chance to get it right so yes that first cut is accompanied by a degree of breath holding.

Too Cool for school

Who doesn't love to make someone smile.
A star in the making 'Charli', who plays the drums (how cool is that) loves her new enoch & plonk frock.

'Photography is so much a part of Emily's life she's been told by her daughter to "stop taking photo's and push me [on the swing]", and while most of her time is spent being a mother to her two young children (Lily, 3 and Dylan, 1) a camera is never far from reach.
Emily's focus is primarily on newborn and maternity photography, but adores capturing family moments and weddings. There is something particularly precious in capturing newborns while they are still so sweet, tiny and 'squishy'. The time is so fleeting, newborns change so quickly, and it is her attention to detail and beautiful posing of these sweet little creatures that is firmly establishing Emily's reputation in this highly competative field.
Having worked in the photography industry for over ten years across Melbourne and Victoria, she credits her ability to capture these moments of a wedding or a child at play to her experience as a press photographer, where thinking on your feet is paramount.'

Totally shameless

So she's not perfect, but then again who is.  I wouldn't have her any other way.  She's a feisty little madame who like all 5 year old's will try and get her own way by what ever means she can.

Watching Ella acquire other little kids toys at our local park is a sight be behold.   Duncan had seen her doing it on a few occasions before and I just didn't believe that she could be that calculating.  But having witnessed it first hand I was stunned at how much thought she must put into it.

She begins standing closely to a small bike or 'ride-on' with a look of disinterest on her face....she walks away.  Then another approach and a few kicks just to prove she couldn't care less.  The third time she will slowly wheel it just out of sight of the owners.  A while later see appears out of nowhere riding it round the park without a care in the world and like it was always meant to be hers.

It has to be said that witnessing the whole event was made rather funny by her dad's accompanying commentary.

The evidence

Your mission if you choose to accept it......

It's been a while since I've worked on something so small as a size 2 but it's lovely to get back into some design work after a short break.  The smaller a frock is the less room there is for adding complimentary fabrics and therefore designing something exciting and deserving of it's price tag.  Smaller proportions and very large prints can also make it difficult for design elements to work together well.  But I'm always up for a challenge.

With star studded velour sleeves and dramatic stretch print fabric this little number is perfect for the cooler months.  I had my doubts about the t.shirt initially but this feminine twist on a masculine design is just perfect.

All change at Facebook

Something huge and dramatic happened over on facebook this week.  With all the subtle little changes this which have been driving most page owners nuts this was a massive change.  Love it or hate it, facebook it seems couldn't care less so it's time to just except and adapt.

I must say the new timeline cover pic is a brilliant idea especially how large it is emblazoned across the top of page.  The 'tabs' are great too.  You can download any image to represent each tab which looks more individual than the generic boring ones on offer previously.

The post selection thing I'll get used to over time no doubt and the two columns is a bit confusing (especially when posts for last year pop up).  And so so far I'm pleased with the changes.  I'm sure once I've safely navigated my way round I love it all.

The new cover pic...."nice"

I'd love to hear what you think of the changes and how you've adapted.  Share anything you've found interesting or just plain awesome about the new layout.
