Guest blogging
It's very strange but I never seem to have any problems writing guest posts for other blogs about myself or enoch & plonk but when it comes to writing my own posts it's like giving birth to a 20 pound baby. That being the case I was chuffed to bits last week to have been asked by Ali at Cheeky Pickle to write a guest post about 'branding' and what it means to me.
Ali wrote a beautiful introduction and it was a huge honour to be included in a blog post with Little Lou Lou. whose creative style is so very different to mine.
Good blog, bad blog
It got me thinking about my blog and what I do and don't write on it. I constantly read contradictory advise, about good blogs and blog writing. Do I write what I want or should I listen to that little voice in my head which shouts "no don't write that" (I'm getting help for that little voice by the way).
So here I am wondering what to write, expose or not (metaphorically speaking of course). I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions of what you'd like to see on this blog and what you like about blogs in general. Do you prefer them to be all business or more personal ??
For now I'm going to do a mix of both so let me know what you think.....
First day nerves........ for mummy
Like a lot of mummy's I've just waved my youngest off to preschool. Filled with dread and excitement. Worried that she won't be able to drink when she needs to and wouldn't know what the hell was going on. I need not have worried.
When we arrived she remembered the place, having been there just once before, with all her developmental problems Ella has a great memory. We opened the double gates and off she bombed like a heat seeking missile. I couldn't have been more relieved and pleased.
She's attending just 2 days a week but after just 3 full days there I can already see an improvement in her development, tiny improvements but improvements all the same.

I've received a number of terrific photos of fans 'enoch and plonking' recently and thought it would be lovely to share them here, make it a regular thing.

I find the same with my blog. There is so much happening in my personal life that I find it so hard to write to a general audience. As much as I would love to share the bigger picture, I can't risk writing about the real stuff, in case the wrong person reads it :-/
As for content: I really do love the personal stuff :)
Write what YOU want to write about. Write about what's important to you so i can see who you are. :) Great blog by the way and so glad Ella is enjoying little school
Just write about what is important to YOU. If your reader is interested in what you do and want to know more about YOU then they will read it :)
Nicola, I am the same but I figure I am going to write what I want to write seen as it is MY blog. I figure my blog may not appeal to everyone but you run that risk no matter what you choose to write about. I personally know you lovely label and your great style for me I want to see the raw you and your stuff.. hope that helps. - Donna

I just like to write for me, but I hope that others enjoy my mix of me things. My personal challenge is to blog at least once a week, so far so good! I love reading your blog, it keeps me up to date with your newest creations (in case I miss something on FB) and tells me a little about you too :) ~ Christine xx
